I've been thinking about conflict lately – how hard I try to avoid it in my life and how weird it is to let that habit spill into my writing.
Because, as good writers keep telling me, there's no story without conflict of some sort. So I'm looking for new ways to introduce it to my work while keeping it firmly out of my real life!
Is that a conflict? Hm.

When I started writing fiction, learning to develop strong internal and external conflict for my characters was the the most difficult concept to master, and it's one I still wrestle with.
