Sunday Fun—Beyond Hideous

Yesterday I was searching an online buy-and-sell website, looking for a vintage coffee table and end table for my living room. The phrase “coffee table” led me to this.

My daughter and I had a good laugh. She said it's probably from the Darth Maul Collection, and then explained that Darth Maul is a Star Wars character, described by George Lucas as "a figure from your worst nightmare."

The resemblance? Unmistakable.

The price? $2500.

I have no idea who is trying to sell this furniture, although I can imagine why. It was likely purchased by a young guy who has since asked a young gal to marry him.

Her answer: Get rid of that furniture, and then we’ll talk.

Until next time,
Lee

All I can say is, "Oh my." Your daughter is right, it does bear a huge resemblance to Darth Maul. Not going in my house anytime soon. Or later either!

I'm with you, Sheryll! My taste in decor is way too conservative to ever pull that off.

wow, not my taste, but I admire people who aren't afraid to show their wild side!

I saw a white leather (fake, I assume) living room suite, cowboy style, in a thrift store years ago. I've always been kind of sorry I didn't snap it up even though it wasn't my ideal style. Or my style at all. But it would have been fun!

As for the Darth Maul collection: Imagine how great it would be to welcome your in-laws to your home and see the expressions on their faces when they got a look at your oh-so-stylin' decor.
And would your kids' friends want to couch-surf on that?

I'm pretty sure you'd have your living room all to yourself.

LOL, Marin. There's definitely an eye-popping wild side to that set. I wonder if it's at least comfortable :)

Rachel, I'm picturing a white leather sofa, complete with fringes, of course, a set horns hanging over the mantel, and a black-and-white cowhide rug.

That's decorating for the outlaws ;)
